Hello!

Hello,

 I'm Anna.

Born with the love for creating through the mediums of drawing, painting and illustrating in 1996 Salo, Finland, I continued to seek higher education and experience by moving to Kankaanpää in 2015 to start my studies on a bachelor degree in fine arts. As my roots have spread and grown, my objective has become to bear fruits in the fields of illustration, and to cultivate the rich soil of design. With a great passion for meticulous attention to detail and a penchant for the curiosities and oddities of nature, I observe and study more abstract ideas, whilst gripping and fuelling the imagination that we born with as a child.

Prologue

My style, greatly influenced by illustrations in old storybooks, pulp and noir comics/movies, the art of H.R Griger, Moeabius and Mark Ryden, is a black and white mix of ornaments and shapes that engage and resonate with the viewers input. I have a knack for working with paper and ink, water and colour, digital and organic.

On my free time I like to draw, listen to music, and seek inspiration around me from architecture, the development of history from cave paintings to the era of Renaissance and national romanticism, traditional crafts of aboriginal tribes… I’m also intriqued by graphic design in the form of webpage formatting, advertising, traditional animation and game design.

Interlude

Having spent my childhood holidays in Lapland and traveling with my significant other, I’ve had a great time exploring the wilderness and the wildlife in its natural state. My holidays are spent traveling, hiking, camping, and collecting memorabilia from our trips. Mostly rocks - ‘ol hubby has a knack at geology. The stranger and unique, the better.

My dreams and ambitions are to move to Germany to get the chance to expand my work and study opportunities, learn the language and a new culture, and to get to know and develop myself to become a better person. I also wish to publish my own childrens book in the future.
